The end of the deadlock in the schools of the Jewish Agency in Palestine is expected to-day, following a decision adopted by the Executive of the Hebrew Teachers’ Organisation to meet in Jerusalem to-day to consider the conclusions arrived at by the Joint Conference of the Executive of the Jewish Agency, the Vaad Leumi and the Tel Aviv Municipality, to the effect that the Jewish Agency should be responsible jointly with Palestine Jewry for the educational budget for the current year, but that the debts of the educational system for previous years concern the Jewish Agency exclusively.
There is growing resentment among the Jewish population of Palestine because of the suspension of teaching in the schools, and meetings of parents are held daily at which demands are made that the schools should be reopened.
