Jewish Scientist Awarded German Prize for Medical Research

The 1953 Paul Ehrlich Prize for medical research, a gold plaque, has been awarded to Ernst Boris Chain, Russian-born Jewish scientist, who shared the Nobel Prize with Sir Alexander Fleming for the discovery of penicillin. Dr. Chain was forced to flee Germany when the Nazis came to power.
