There are 13 Jews and 9 non-Jews on the new Government Committee for the Settlement of Working Jews on the Land (Comzet), the composition of which has just been approved by the Presidium of the All-Soviet Union Central Executive Committee.
M. Peter Smidovitch, Vice-President of the Soviet Union, continues as Chairman of the comzet, and Mr. Boris Trotsky, who has occupied various Government positions, is Vice-Chairman, replacing M. Mereszin (as was recently reported by the J.T.A.)
The members of the Comzet include Messrs. Dimantstein, Weinstein (Rachmiel), M. Litvakov, Yankel Levin, former Secretary of the Far-Eastern Communist Party Committee, and M. Kotel, Chairman of the Ukrainian Ozet.
The non-Jewish members include Tchuckaiev, former Chairman of the Far-Eastern Executive Committee and now Chairman of the Budget Commission of the Central Executive Committee, A. Buzenko, the present Chairman of the Far-Eastern Executive Committee, and Bogdanov, representative of the Commissariat of Agriculture.
The members of the Presidium of the Comzet are M. Smidovitch, Chairman; B. Trotsky, Vice-Chairman, and Messrs. Dimantstein, Weinstein, Tchuckaiev, Bogdanov, Buzenko and Davidovitch.
