Jewish settlers demonstrated outside the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem on Sunday as a ministerial committee on settlements was meeting to determine the legality of some 40 Jewish settlements that sprouted on West Bank hilltops since the signing of last year’s Wye accord. The Israeli daily Ha’aretz quoted senior political sources as saying Barak was inclined to order that about 10 of the enclaves be dismantled on the grounds they were put up illegally.
