Jewish settlers have set up at least five new encampments in the West Bank since last month’s signing of the Wye agreement, the Israeli daily Ha’aretz reported. The moves came as part of an effort to establish footholds in the West Bank before Israel embarks on any further redeployments from the area. The report said most of the encampments were set up on state-owned lands within the boundaries of existing settlements.
