Jewish students at Wayne University here and the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor will be permitted to register for the fall semester by proxy in order not to desecrate the Rosh Hashanah holidays, which this year coincide with registration days at the two institutions. Officials of the institutions announced that students would be permitted to sign up for elective courses following the two-day holiday.

Jewish religious services will be conducted for the first time this High Holiday at the new Veterans Memorial Building here. The Downtown Synagogue has obtained use of the building for the holiday services. On Yom Kippur, it was announced, Yizkor memorial prayers will be recited in front of a plaque honoring all of Detroit’s war dead.
