Jewish support helped bring about the defeat of a five-term congresswoman considered strongly anti-Israel. Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-Ga.) was ousted Tuesday by challenger Denise Majette with the help of money from Jewish groups. McKinney, who accused the Bush administration of failing to stop the Sept. 11 attacks because friends of the administration could benefit financially, has angered the Jewish community for years with her anti-Israel votes.
