The degree of Bachelor of Jewish Literature was conferred tonight on seven graduates of the Jewish Teachers Seminary and People’s University at commencement exercises here. Secretarial certificates were awarded to students completing the course for Yiddish-Hebrew secretaries.
The exercises marked the second year in the college status of the 47-year-old Seminary which conferred academic degrees for the first time in 1964. With the seven tonight, 14 graduates have completed the newly instituted four-year program leading to Yiddish-Hebrew teacher diplomas as well as the Bachelor of Jewish Literature degree.
