Jewish Theological Seminary Honors Three Leaders for Contributions to Democracy

Nelson Rocksfeller, former Coordinator of Inter-American Affairs; J. Howard McGrath, U.S. Attorney-General; and Roger Williams Straus, co-chairman of the National Conference of Christians and Jews, were awarded honorary degrees of Doctor of Laws by the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, at a special Thanksgiving Convocation held here tonight. The doctorates were presented by Dr. Louis Finkelstein, president of the Seminary, for “outstanding contributions to the advancement of democratic principles here and abroad.”
