With pledges of more than $17,000,000 on hand toward a five-year goal of $35,000,000 announced in September, 1965. The Jewish Theological Seminary of America was reported today as “entering a new phase of its capital and endowment expansion program.” The announcement was made at a press conference by Dr. Bernard Mandelbaum, Seminary president. He explained that the institution had deferred making any definite commitments of capital funds until it had some assurance that the $35,000,000 goal, believed to be the largest ever sought in a single campaign by a theological institution, could be obtained.
