A school of Talmudic ethics, to be known as the Herbert H. Lehman Institute of Ethics will be launched next fall at The Jewish Theological Seminary of America, in New York, it was announced this week-end. The announcement was timed to honor Senator Lehman on the occasion of his 80th birthday.
The new institute will require a $1, 000, 000 endowment, of which more than $250, 000 has already been contributed, the announcement said. The institute will be devoted to research in the Talmud.
