Jewish to Raise at U.N. the Question of Growth of Anti- Semitism in Germany

The executive of the Agudas Israel World Organization today decided to raise the question of the growth of anti-Semitism in Germany at the Geneva session of the United Nations Economic and Social Council. H.A. Goodman, who presided at the meeting of the executive here, reported that the organization had submitted a memorandum to the British Foreign Office protesting a ban by the Munich municipal authorities against kosher ritual slaughter of cattle.

(In New York, it was reported today that Dr. Theodore Heuss, President of the West German Republic, said that his government is “fully prepared for talks and a full discussion of all pending matters with the Jews of Germany as well as the State of Israel.” He made this statement to Manfred George, editor of the Aufbau, a German Jewish weekly published in New York. He also said that the old Nazi ideas about the Jews no longer “flourished” in Germany.)
