Only two large Jewish tobacco merchants are left in Poland today from a group which numbered 800, declared the “Hajnt” yesterday.
The paper says that there were 800 large Jewish tobacco merchants prior to the introduction of the state monopoly. This number was subsequently reduced to thirty and has now dwindled to two in the entire country.
