Jewish troops at Fort Hood were expected today to take over duties of Christian soldiers on Christmas Day in response to an appeal by Chaplain Irving Rubin, the fort’s Jewish chaplain. The arrangement will enable the Christian troops to attend religious services.
Similar arrangements in reverse were set up during the Jewish Holy Days to allow Jewish personnel to be relieved of duty on those days. Duties involved include kitchen policing and guard assignments.
