The Seventh Congress of Jewish Trades Unions opened today with the slogan, “Unity in the Fight for Poland’s Independence and Against Hitler Aggression.” Representatives of Polish trades unions, greeting the 221 delegates who represent 100,000 Jewish workers in 30 communities, emphasized that the Poles and Jews had a common fate and asserted that anti-Semitic agitation was created by the enemies of Poland to split the citizens of the State. Victor Alter is presiding at the congress.
