Complete endorsement of the American program of National Defense and all-out aid England and her allies was urged today in resolutions adopted by the 46th annual encampment of the Jewish War Veterans, meeting here.
The convention heard addresses by Ephraim Gomberg of the National Refugee Service and Lavy Bakstansky, General Secretary of the British Zionist Organization, representing the United Palestine Appeal, who spoke on “Palestine and British Jewry in the Present Conflict.”
Other resolutions passed by the convention urged complete cooperation with the United Service Organization, asked first aid course in the public schools systems as an aid to national defense, endorsed the Pan-American good neighbor policy of the United States, and requested the government to give free mailing privileges to enlisted men in the armed services.
Louis Kraft, executive director of the Jewish Welfare Board, Col. Ralph Steinberg, representing B’nai B’rith, and Henry W. Levy, New England secretary of the American Jewish Committee addressed the delegates at a symposium on National Defense.
