The Jewish War Veterans of the United States issued orders to commanders of its posts today to make “an aggressive and thorough investigation” of the manner of recruiting for the National Guard in the various states.
The order followed revelations that one National Guard unit in New York had advertised in a Nazi paper for German recruits. The ad prompted Adjutant General Walter G. Robinson to prohibit further newspaper advertisements for recruits.
