The Jewish War Veterans last night concluded their annual state convention, which was marked by a large attendance of members from all parts of New York state during two days of business and festive sessions.
On Saturday night the annual banquet was held in Hunt’s Point Palace at 163rd street and Southern boulevard, and during most of Sunday veterans crowded the largest meeting rooms of the same building mapping out plans for activities during the coming year.
Among those who addressed the convention were Herman Bernstein, former Minister to Albania; Queens Borough President George U. Harvey; County Judge Harry Stackell, and Bronx Borough President J. J. Lyons.
Shortly after two o’clock yesterday afternoon 1,000 delegates and alternates retired to Pelham Bay Park, where they placed a wreath at the World War Memorial Grave Monument. J. David Delman, state commander, officiated at the ceremony.
Aldermanic President Bernard S. Deutsch sent a message expressing regret at inability to attend.
