Jewish Weavers Drop Dead from Starvation

As a result of the serious depression in the Textile industries here, thousands of Jewish workers have been thrown out of work and face death by starvation.

Numerous cases have been reported of Jewish workers dropping dead on the streets from starvation. Five Jewish weavers were removed from their homes in ambulances in a state of coma, having gone without food for many days. First aid treatment was rendered at the hospital but they all succumbed without regaining consciousness.

Lodz is the most important textile center in Poland, employing tens of thousands of Jews.
