A local Jewish weekly has demanded an apology to the Jewish community from the Detroit Free Press for allegedly impugning the loyalty of American Jews. The Detroit Jewish News accused the Free Press of action “tantamount to the terror that emanates from Arab countries, with the support of the Kremlin” because it criticized Jewish demonstrators against French President Georges Pompidou.
