Approximately 50,000 children and young people are expected to participate in the celebration of the festival of Purim. under the auspices of Jewish Community Centers and Y. M. H. A.’s throughout the United States and Canada, a statement by the Jewish Welfare Board in New York announced. The holiday falls this year on Tuesday, March 26th.
The Jewish Welfare Board, as the parent organization of Jewish Community Centers and Y. M. H. A.’s, is assisting its constituent associations in the (##) of Purim celebrations by distributing material for programs, including a Purim Gross Word Puzzle on the historical and ceremonial significance of the holiday.
