It is reported here that a number of Jewish women are confidentially collecting signatures to a petition to High Commissioner Chancellor, asking him to grant a pardon to the Arabs condemned to death for the murder of Jews during last Summer’s riots. The Arab Executive has been urging a commutation of the death sentences, while the Arab delegation now in London has been trying to get similar action. The Privy Council recently declined to approve an appeal from these death sentences.
