One hundred and sixty organizations with a membership of approximately 119,000 were represented at the Tenth Annual Convention of the Federation of Jewish Women’s Organizations of Greater New York, at the Hotel Astor, all day Wednesday. Mrs. David E. Goldfarb presided.
The convention discussed problems touching all phases of the philanthropic, religious, educational and social activities of the community, and women’s relationship, responsibility and achievements in all of these fields.
Major Daniel Hopkin, M.P., a prominent member of the British Labor Party, and one of the surviving officers of the famous Zion Mule Corps, which distinguished itself at Galipoli during the World War, was one of the featured speakers. Magistrate Jeannette Brill spoke on women’s achievements, past and present.
