Jewish workers and labor movement officials figure prominently in a new coffee- table book on the history of workers in New York City. In “Ordinary People, Extraordinary Lives: A Pictorial History of Working People in New York City,” Debra E. Bernhardt and Rachel Bernstein also highlight the establishment of such Jewish labor organizations as the United Hebrew Trades and the Workmen’s Circle.
