The German Government withdrew the right of Jewish physicians to own nursing homes and clinics yesterday. At the same time, the municipality of Berlin ordered the sick benefit funds, municipal institutions and relief societies aided by the city not to send patients, not even Jews, to Jewish hospitals so that these institutions will not even receive indirect support from the city.
In an effort to relieve the condition of Jewish doctors, which is becoming constantly worse, the Berlin Jewish community today opened its hospitals and clinics to all Jewish doctors to enable them to treat their patients. The facilities of the clinics and laboratories supported by the Jewish communiy were put at their disposal.
Following on the ouster of Jews from labor unions throughout the Reich and the frequent prohibitions of Jewish labor groups, the Nazi press bureau points out that no Jew may join the new workers organizations now being formed into a comprehensive “labor front.”
After the dissolution of their unions, Jewish workmen had hoped to be admitted to the new one. This hope is completely shattered by the Nazi pronouncement.
“Jewish workers are excluded once and for all from German organizations of every kind and therefore from the national labor front,” the statement pointed out.
