Members of the Jewish Writers Union, professional organization of Yiddish journalists, today started picketing the offices of the New York Newspaper Guild in retaliation for the strike which the Guild proclaimed against the Day, a New York Jewish daily newspaper.
The Jewish Writers Union is not only opposing the strike, but considers the action of the Guild an invasion of organized Jewish journalism and an attempt to break the Union which has successfully protected the professional interests of Yiddish newspapermen for more than twenty years.
