More than 300 women attended the meeting which marked the forty-third anniversary of the Rodeph Sholom sisterhood, 7 West Eighty-third street. Rabbi Milton Steinberg, who delivered an address on “Wanted: A. Program of Jewish Life,” was introduced by Mrs. Samuel Siegler, president of the sisterhood.
Rabbi Steinberg stressed the need for a philosophy of Jewish life, praising the philosophy presented by Professor Mordecai Kaplan as the most acceptable. “In the light of Professor Kaplan’s philosophy, Jewish ceremonials, the Hebrew language and Zionism are indispensable to a full Jewish life,” he said.
