Jewish youth representing 200 organizations from the right to the left, with the sole exceptions of the Neturei Karta and the Communists, will be present at the first world Jewish youth congress which opens here July 28, Eliahu Dodkin, member of the Jewish Agency executive, announced today at a press conference.
Mr. Dobkin revealed that the 380 delegates expected at the parley would come from 42 countries on all continents, even including Yugoslavia but not from the Soviet led bloc. The United States and Canada between them are sending 84 delegates Britain, 27; France, 26; other European countries, a total of 41; North Africa, 20; South Africa, 13; South America, 53; Israel, 100, and Australia and Asia, 13.
The four-day parley has been called in the hope of revitalizing the Jewish youth movements outside Israel, Mr. Dobkin said. Among the leading Israeli and world Zionist personalities who will address the young people are:
President Itzhak Ben Zvi; Premier David Ben Gurion; Dr. Nahum Goldmann, president of the World Zionist Organization; Moshe Sharett, former Premier of Israel; Knesset Speaker Joseph Sprinzak, and former Palmach leader Yigal Alon.
All participants in the conference, Mr. Dobkin said, have agreed to the following minimum aims: the fostering of Jewish cultural and spiritual values outside Israel; assistance to Israel and personal attachment to practical projects which will bridge the distance between Jewish youth abroad and in Israel, and the study of the Hebrew language and literature.
