Benjamin Yossee Kimchin, 16-year-old Jewish youth, was today convicted of attempted robbery of a bank in Jaffa Sept. 13 and illegally bearing arms, and was sentenced to 18 and 12-year concurrent prison terms. In addition the military court ordered that he receive 18 strokes of the lash. When the verdict was read, he shouted: “Do you expect to be in Palestine 18 years?”
Kimchin, who appeared in court in a military shirt and shorts, refused to enter a plea. A second Jewish youth, 17 years old, is being held for trial on a similar charge.
