The entire Jewish press urged the Jewish population to participate in defense against “Nazi aggression.” Haint declared editorially: “No second Munich. Peace, yes, but not at the price of a victim to be thrown to the Moloch!” Moment asserted: “Our enemy has turned out to be the enemy of mankind.”
Unzer Express warned that Polish citizens would fight to the last for Poland’s freedom. Nasz Przeglad, replying to German allegations of persecution of Germans in Poland, declared the Poles in Germany were now sharing the martyrdom of the German Jews, with tortures, deprival of livelihood and internment in concentration camps.
