The month of Sivan (May 17th. to June 15th.) has been proclaimed as “Jewishness Month” by the Conference of the Organisation of Jewish orthodox women, the Bnoth Agudath Israel, which was concluded here this evening after holding the Maariv service conducted by the women themselves.

Jewishness, Yiddish language, the sacred Hebrew tongue, and war against the tendency of women towards extravagance in dress and finery and luxurious living are the slogans adopted by the Conference for the purpose of the campaign during the “Jewishness Month”.

The members of the Bnoth Agudath Israel have pledged themselves at the Conference to continue the traditional artistic work of Jewish women, such as making and embroidering cloths for the Ark of the Law, coverings for the Sabbath loaves, for the matzoth at the Seder table, phylactery bags, etc. The women be-longing to the Organisation have pledged themselves to speak Yiddish at least on the Sabbath Day.
