Several Jewish personalities were among representatives of all Polish parties who attended a reception by President Ignace Moscicki at the old Royal Palace in connection with the air defense loan, in the raising of which Jews are playing a prominent part. Trades unions affiliated with the Bund (Jewish Socialist party) and the Poale-Zion (laborite Zionist organization) have subscribed to the loan and have appealed to their members to follow the organizations’ example individually.
Meanwhile, the authorities prohibited the opening, scheduled for today, of an exhibition entitled “The Jews in Poland,” sponsored by the central organization of Jewish schools. The initiators of the project are intervening with the authorities to seek lifting of the ban.
