A group of Jews and non-Jews today organized “Action Against Anti-Semitism in Austria” on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of “Crystal Night,” the night of November 9-10, 1938, when the Nazis loosed pogroms against Jews following the assassination of a Nazi diplomat in Paris by a Jewish youth.
The Jewish Community of Vienna voiced its support of the “action” group. At the organization meeting, Prof. Kurt Schubert appealed to all Austrians to replace hatred and discrimination with mutual understanding.
