Several Jewish youths were arrested yesterday for singing “Hatikvah” at the conclusion of Yom Kippur services at the Wailing Wall where religious or political demonstrations are prohibited. Otherwise the holiday passed quietly throughout Palestine.

In Tel Aviv American Chaplain Hardy Martinson, who is not Jewish, attended services at the Great Synagogue in the company of many American officers and men.
