Several Jews who were en route to the synagogue in the Mellah of Fez, Morocco, were arrested and taken to prison, the first such arrests in Fez, it was reported here today. Several children were among those arrested. They were released the next day after intervention by the president of the Jewish community.

A Star of David was removed from the front of the Beth El Synagogue in Casablanca earlier this week. It was also disclosed that apparently as an aspect of the deterioration in Moroccan-Jewish relations, David Azoulay, secretary of the Casablanca Jewish community, was replaced as secretary of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Casablanca by a Moslem.
