Anti-Jewish excesses took place in the town of Kimpolung, Bukowina, following the acquittal of Nicolai Totu, the murderer of the Jewish student David Falik, a despatch to the Vienna evening paper, “Sechs Uhr Blatt” states.

The Roumanian newspaper, “Universal,” the organ of Minister of the Interior Goga, terms Totu a Roumanian “national hero.”

The “Pester Lloyd” publishes a despatch from Bucharest according to which the Roumanian Prime Minister, Averescu, addressed a letter to Education Minister Petrovici concerning the anti-Semitic excesses. It is reported that Averescu urged the immediate cessation of the anti-Semitic student riots. Otherwise, he will be compelled to bring the students guilty of the riots before a court martial.
