About 50,000 persons gathered here last night greet the new state of Israel. The meeting, the largest Jewish demonstration ever ##d in Argentina, also marked the launching of a special United Palestine Appeal campaign.
Among the speakers were delegates from Palestine and Jewish and non-Jewish Argentinian leaders. Most of the speakers expressed the hope that Argentina would soon cognize Israel. After the meeting members of the audience massed behind Argentinian and Jewish flags and marched to the statue of San Martin, the Liberator, and laid a death on the monument.
