A Jewish gathering held in the city of Grosswardein to celebrate the endorsement by Italy of the Bessarabian protocol, was attacked by anti-Semitic Roumanian students, a despatch of the Hungarian Telegraphic Agency received here states.
The gathering was held in the Merchants’ Hall and the proceeds were to go for charitable purposes.
The students invaded the hall, breaking the windows and attacking the guests. Many persons were injured, two girls severely. Panic prevailed in the hall and many women fainted.
The police arrived too late to prevent the riot.
