Official statistics on the number of Jews studying in the Hungarian universities during 1927-1928 have just been published. The figures reveal that 15,490 Jews were enrolled in 38 Hungarian universities, forming 8.3% of the total student body. The statistics include colleges and teachers’ seminaries where the proportion of Jewish students is higher, thus increasing the average for the size of the Jewish student body.
