Jews constitute 5.4 percent of the population in the Ukraine, according to statistics published in the August issue of the Soviet Union Review. The figures are based on the 1926 census.
In urban centers of the Ukraine the Jewish population number 22.7 percent of the total, in the rural districts they constitute 1.5 percent.
