Jews Cooperate with Child Study Organization

Cooperation with all organizations dealing with child study and education is a feature of the policy of the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies.

An announcement issued yesterday says that five of the 91 institutions maintained by the Federation in New York were taking part in the closing exercices on August 29 of the summer play schools directed by the Federation for Child Study of which Mrs. Fred M. Stein, a director of the Jewish Federation, is chairman.

“We believe in offering the children of working parents opportunities when young that will help them to be independent when adults”, said Mrs. Stein. “Beth the Federations in which I am interested are necessary to each other and we are gratified by the results obtained”.

During the summer the kindergartens of the Brightside Day Rursery and the Emanuel Sisterhood supported by the Federation of Jewish Philanthropic Societies have been under the supervision of the Federation for Child Study. Montessori teechera have directed the children so that although their mothers are employed, the children have not suffered by the separation.

In all, more than 450 youngsters have been registered during the summer at play schools conducted by the five institutions mentiened.
