Considerable astonishment is caused here today by the publication in Nazi organs of a confidential document submitted to the Minister of Justice by the Union of Former Jewish Front Soldiers.
The memorandum protested against the failure of the authorities to act against the Nazis who are continually defying the law in publishing libels against the Jewish religion and Jewish citizens.
The document cited instances of Nazi libels of the Talmud and Shulchan Aruch, and the accusations of immorality levelled against Jews.
The contents of this document are published in Nazi organs, who utilize the opportunity to renew their libelous attacks upon the Jews.
None of the publications has been confiscated by the authorities.
In addition to the chagrin felt in Jewish circles that a confidential document to the government should have promptly made its way to the Nazi press, fear is entertained lest the signatories of the memorandum, whose names are also published, together with their addresses, be made the objects of reprisals.
