Jerusalem Jews constitute little more than half or the total population of Jerusalem, according to figures supplementary to the general census numbers recently published. Jews number 34,000 out of a total population or 62,000. The same ratio obtains also in the Jaffa district where Jews constitute half of the population of 40,000. A slight decrease is reported in the Jewish population of the agricultural colonies. Haifa is the only city in Palestine where the Christians predominate.

The orange trade of the Jaffa district is in a bad way owing to the fall of price of the Palestinian orange in the English market, from 16 to 5 shillings.
