Increased anti-Semitic agitation in the province of Santa Fe has caused the local branch of the DAIA, Argentine Jewish representative body, to ask the authorities in the city of Santa Fe, capital of the province, to guarantee the security of the local Jewish population.
The head of the provincial government promised that measures will be taken to prevent any disturbances. Students in the schools of law, chemistry and engineering at the University of Santa Fe recently adopted a resolution calling attention to the rising anti-Semitism and charging that it was aimed at provoking a “state of violence and fascist dictatorship.”
