A new, $150,000 headquarters for the Jewish Volunteer Fire Brigade here, called Bomba Israel, was dedicated yesterday with ceremonies in which high Chilean governmental officials participated, along with leaders of the Jewish Community of Chile. One of the principal guests of honor was Israel’s Ambassador here, Eliezer Doron.

According to custom in this country, fire-fighting is in the hands of volunteer brigades. Among such groups are a Spanish Company, Italian and German. Several years ago, the Jewish Community formed its own fire brigade, called Bomba Israel. The new headquarters of Bomba Israel was built with funds provided entirely by the Chilean Jewish community.
