The lot of the Russian Jews would have been disastrous as a result of a wave of pogroms, had the plans of the anti-Soviet plotters now on trial been carried out, according to a statement made today to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency by a professor of the Moscow University who does not wish to give his name.
The professor said that Professor L. K. Ramzin, confessed leader of the anti-Soviet conspiracy, was a pronounced anti-Semite, who often clearly revealed his Jew-hatred, and that his plans included anti-Jewish pogroms.
The names of the old Menshevik leader, R. Abramovitch who is now in Berlin, and Dr. Paul Miliukov, leader of the old Constitutional Democrats, who is now in Paris, were mentioned at today’s hearing during the evidence given by Professor Fedoroff, one of the anti-Soviet plotters now on trial. Professor Fedoroff said that Abramovitch and Miliukov had been in contact with the Ramzin group, promising their assistance in case of a coup d’etat in Russia.
