Jews in England Provide Passover Food for Turkish Jews Liberated from Germany

Several hundred pounds of matzoth, as well as Passover wine, bagaddas and cigarettes were provided by the liverpool Jewish Community for 140 Turkish Jews released from German concentration camps who passed Liverpool aboard the Swedish exchange ship Drottinghoim.

A delegation of the British section, World Jewish Congreas, returning today from Sweden reported that the Swedish Government is willing to accept “considerable numbers” of Jewish refugees, The delegation conferred with members of the Swedish cabinet. The Swedish section of the World Jewish Congress is making arrangements to send to “Jewish” internment camps in Germany loosher food parcels secured with the aid of the War Refugee Board, the delegation stated.
