Jews in France residing in localities near the Swiss border have been ordered to move into the interior and access to these border villages has been forbidden to Jews, it was reported today by the Swiss press, quoting an order issued yesterday by the Prefect of the Department of Haute-Savoir.
The local newspapers state that the order was motivated by the fact that Jews continue to slip across the border into Switzerland with the help of willing Frenchmen.
