The view that Jews in post-war Poland will have to play a larger part in agriculture, was expressed by Dr. Manfred Lachs, expert on questions of economics and international law, in the course of a lecture on “The Contribution of Polish Jews to the Economic Life of Poland during the Years 1918-1939” delivered here last night.
Emigration, Dr. Lachs said, was not the only solution of the Jewish problem in Poland. The Polish Government has repeatedly stated that the Jews will be able to participate in all spheres of Polish life, and a policy of intensive agricultural production would provide new opportunities also for Polish Jews, he stated.
