The German campaign to save from execution the seven condemned Nazi war criminals in the American zone of Germany who were convicted of the murder of tens of thousands of Jews and others is denounced in the current issue of the Jewish publication “Allgemeine Zeitung der Juden in Deutschland.”

In an editorial, the publication says that the widespread campaign to save the seven is being pushed by people who were unconcerned about the fate of the “thousands of innocents who were tortured to death by the Gestapo in concentration camps.” It points out that if the same energy had been used to save the innocent victims of Nazism the very criminals now condemned to death would not have been able to saddle the entire German people with their present burden of guilt.
